This time, we traveled down south living the island hopping dreams, basking in Krabi’s vibrant hues. It is going to be another short trip with the kids so we decided to just focus on pristine waters, untouched secret tropical islands with white sand beaches. The best way to experience Krabi's best waters is to simply hop on any traditional long tail boats along Ao Nang beach and embark on a full day 4-island trips.
Fret not if you had an uneasy feeling by the look of traditional long tail boats. They are in fact modified and powered by boat engines to get you to several islands within the day.
Our boat captain is friendly, experienced and manoeuvre seamlessly well across the changing tides in the open sea. The long tail boats are common sights in Krabi hired for island hopping by travellers and are more economical by price comparisons compared to the modern bigger speed boats around. And what’s more authentic than to explore the gems of Krabi in a more nostalgic and traditional way at your your space and pace?
Be sure to book the following for your island hopping trips when you visit Krabi
Phra Nang Beach
Our first stop was Phra Nang Beach and is very near to the Railay Peninsula. Clear waters scenic views and definitely in awe of the stunning limestone karst arising majestically out of the bay. You could also swim over to or kayak around the giant opening of the Phra Nang Cave with stalactites and stalagmites. Legend had it that a sea princess reside in the cave and hence locals made their offerings in return for good luck and fertility. We spent a good 45 minutes there before heading to the next jaw dropping location.
Poda Island (Koh Podah)
I will never forget this place
The most stunning beaches are found in smaller and uninhabited islands. Poda Island is one of such. By far one of our most memorable experience on the 4 island tours. Felt so unreal but just right there before your eyes. The whitest sand, pristine turquoise clear waters with distinctive varying shade of blues against the backdrop of the clear sky and splashing waves. All i can say is that I wish for no one to ever discover this place full of unearthly beach serenity.
